School Support Initiative
Providing educational materials and resources for schools in underserved communities worldwide access.

The Suzana Foundation is proud to report a successful milestone in our mission to bridge the education gap. Our latest initiative focused on Zimbabwe, where we have successfully enabled 5 children to attend formal schooling for the first time. By addressing the multidimensional barriers to education ranging from financial hardship to geographical isolation we have established a foundation for these students to break the cycle of poverty through learning.
Core Challenges Identified
Our baseline assessments in the target communities revealed that children were prevented from attending school due to:
Economic Barriers: Families were unable to afford mandatory school uniforms, textbooks, and essential supplies.
Infrastructure Deficits: The distance to the nearest educational facility posed a significant safety and fatigue risk to younger students.
Community Awareness: A lack of resources led to a perception that primary education was secondary to immediate agricultural or domestic labor.
To achieve our objective of enrollment and retention, the Foundation implemented a three-pillar support system:
Direct Material Support: We provided full Education Kits to 5 families, covering tuition fees, uniforms, stationery, and backpacks, ensuring every child arrived at the classroom prepared and on equal footing with their peers.
Logistical Facilitation: We partnered with local community leaders to establish bicycle program, drastically reducing the transit time and increasing the safety of the daily commute.
Community Engagement: We conducted 2 workshops with parents and guardians to emphasize the long term socioeconomic benefits of literacy and formal education, shifting local sentiment to prioritize school attendance.
